HEMP
Hemp is a natural textile fiber extracted from the homonymous herbaceous plant of the cannabis sativa species, which means “useful hemp”, it is a plant that blooms in areas with temperate climates such as Italy and the collection of extracted fibers is very high yield.
One of the main reasons why we call hemp an ecological textile fiber is that it does not require pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers: growing rapidly it attracts few pests, grows successfully at a density of 150 plants per square meter and reaches a height of 2- 5 meters in just three months.
Textile hemp has been used in dozens of different ways since the first civilizations that appeared in Asia, the Middle East and China, for example, hemp was used to make paper in China, but also ropes, canvases, sacks.
